Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a type of bacteria that mainly infects the stomach.
This can lead to:
Bacteria can survive in the harsh acidic environment of the stomach. H. pylori infections are often asymptomatic, but when symptoms do occur, they can include abdominal pain, nausea, bloating and indigestion.
Helicobacter pylori usually occurs through human-to-human contact. It can be spread through saliva, dental plaque or faeces. Infection can occur through kissing, or through the transfer of bacteria to the hands if the person has not washed their hands thoroughly after using the toilet. It has also been suggested that H. pylori can spread through contaminated water and food.
Propolis has been used in folk medicine for several hundred years to treat various diseases, inflammation, wounds and infections.
More than 2,000 scientific papers have been written on the use of propolis, supporting the view that propolis is a very versatile and useful substance, not only for bees but also for humans.
Propolis contains compounds such as flavonoids and phenols, which are known for their anti-inflammatory properties. These compounds are able to effectively reduce inflammation, thereby also relieving pain and swelling.
Propolis capsules are specially formulated, the contents of the capsules have been pre-processed to make them more digestible, as tarvawa is not readily absorbed by the body. The capsules are dosed with the right amount for convenient consumption.
